    Downs Matthews Memorial Scholarship


    The IABC Houston Student Scholarship is in memory of Downs Matthews, an IABC Houston pioneer, to foster the communication profession at the University of Houston. Undergraduate and graduate student applicants should be majoring in a field of communication within the Valenti School of Communication. IABC UH student chapter membership is not required, but will be considered in the decision-making process.

    Scholarship assistance is based upon academic performance, participation in the University of Houston IABC student chapter, leadership potential, and financial need.

    The Downs Matthews Memorial Scholarship will be a one-time award in the amount of $1,000. IABC Houston pays scholarship funds directly to the University of Houston. Scholarships are awarded without regard to race, color, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation.
