    Jordan Temple is a communications professional with 15 years of experience in managing strategy development and implementation of internal communications and marketing. A fourth generation Texas oil and gas employee, she has a passion for working in the energy industry for large global organizations. She currently works for BP, handling all communications for the Global Wells Organization in the upstream segment. With a background in business administration and an MBA, she brings a unique perspective to communication and coaching for the executives she supports. Jordan has received a Bronze, Silver and Gold Quill for her work with BP.

    John Harris is senior vice president of public policy for Houston First Corporation. He has worked in both the private and public sector and in both the agency and corporate sides of public relations. He spent his first 14 years as a reporter and editor for various Texas newspapers. John has been a member of IABC since the 1990s and is former president of the Austin chapter and current vice president of membership for the Houston chapter.


    Thomas Baen

    Thomas Baen, senior marketing analyst for Academy Sports + Outdoors, has over 13 years of experience in the communications field. His most recent experiences are strategic planning and marketing research. He hold a Bachelor’s of Arts in Public Relations from Texas Tech and a Master’s of Science in Health Service Research from Texas State along with numerous certificates from Texas State, University of Texas and Villanova. Thomas has worked in health care, nonprofit, retail, legal and tourism. He has been a member of IABC since 2010 and has served the chapter as president elect (2014-2015), VP of Professional Development (2013-2014), Sponsorship Chair (2012-2013) and VP of Marketing (2011-2012). During his free time he is attempting to eat at every BBQ joint in Texas, learning to brew beer or volunteering with the Eagle Scout Association in Houston.

    Vargo Williams is dedicated to the art of communication. A dynamic marketing manager, she has extensive experience in both B2B and B2C marketing, from both corporate and agency perspectives. Recognized as a detail-oriented thought leader, Vargo specializes in developing strategic multi-channel marketing campaigns. She creates innovative, integrated communications solutions for local, national and global companies. Her strategic approach enables her to create and analyze research and convert those results to solid strategies that lead brands to the top of their game. Vargo currently serves as the Marketing Manager for Houston First/Visit Houston. Prior to her role as Secretary, she served as the Registration Director in 2016. In her free time, Vargo enjoys cheering for her daughter in gymnastics, is an animal advocate, and enjoys helping out homeless animals and people, exploring new restaurants and cooking. Her husband is a kidney transplant recipient (and doing great) which has also made her passionate about building awareness for organ donation and transplants.

    Brittney has nearly a decade of experience in public relations, branding and internal communications. In her career, she has worked alongside senior leaders in the energy, professional services, technology and food industries to create innovative, strategic and integrated communications programs. She is an active member of IABC Houston, winning a Bronze Quill and has served as VP of Professional Development (2014-Present) and Registration Director (2013-2014).

    Helen Fischer

    Helen Fischer, ABC, holds a Master of Arts in Linguistics and is now retired from a career as a corporate communications manager and writer with responsibility for both internal and external communications. She remains active in IABC Houston, as she has been for more than 35 years, during which she has held office in a variety of functions. Helen also volunteers at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, is fluent in German and is currently attempting to relearn her college Spanish just because she enjoys languages.
