Many small business owners find themselves spending more time focused on keeping the lights on rather than implementing strong business models, and they cannot say with confidence that they will be able to retire successfully and pass the business on to the next generation. On September 14, two seasoned professionals will offer their insights for eliminating those concerns and giving owners the chance to focus on their passion for their business.

Shelley Nadel, CFP®, ADPA®, CLTC®, LUTCF

Shelley Leavitt Nadel, CFP®, CLTC®, ADPA®, LUTCF, is an independent Financial Advisor and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner affiliated with broker/dealer FSC Securities Corporation and does business under the name Financial Success Strategies.  Her firm offers comprehensive financial planning services, including client-specific strategies for: investments, retirement, insurance, tax minimization, business succession, and estate planning. She has specialties in long-term care planning, insurance strategies, and financial strategies for the unique circumstances of same sex or unmarried heterosexual couples.

Services available from Financial Success Strategies include personalized financial coaching, robust financial plans, fee-based investment management, and purchase of insurance products.  Mrs. Nadel also is available to conduct financial literacy seminars for employee networks, community organizations, and informal gatherings of friends and colleagues who have questions about their personal finances.

This integrated approach can be extremely valuable for busy professionals who want an advisor to put all their financial planning needs into one coordinated strategy.

Mrs. Nadel likes to say that volunteering is in her DNA, and she has supported nonprofit organizations in her community for over 40 years. Past leadership roles include Chair of the Greater Houston Partnership’s Women’s Business Alliance and Board member of the Women’s Energy Network; for WEN she also served as their 20th Anniversary Chair.  Currently, she is an Apple Corps Adult Leader for the Houston Food Bank and PTO President for the Energy Institute High School in Houston.

Mrs. Nadel is a native Houstonian. She graduated from St. John’s and earned her Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College and a Master of Public Affairs from the University of Texas.
